I tested your bot, and "hello" responded with "hello" (from your * pattern).
I tried several other patterns from your script, and could not recreate any errors.

The problem is that after this error each question to my bot causes the same error.
You can try to say to my bot "hello" now.

If I delete all the knowledges and reload my scripts, it works agains.

One of the issues is that you have added a bunch of scripts to your bot. In particular the "SimpleLanguage" example Self script. This script attempts to understand questions and gives answers like,

"I understand, that might religious"

Auto liking is not currently supported, auto comments should work.

I enabled "Response matching" but it's still forcing me to teach it every possible combination for the phrase "are you religious" (which has lots of prefixes and add-ons) without using keywords or any tool it has to come up with responses that make sense on its own.

This took me a while to figure out.

For some reason you set your "Conversation Match %" and "Discussion Match %" to 10000% in your bot's Learning page. Since no response can have more than a 100% match, this prevents any scripts from evaluating as a match.

Thanks. I also have another concern. The scripts I imported don't seem to be doing what they're supposed to, for example I put in all the math scripts yet it still can't do basic addition.

I tested your bot, and "Hello" gave the response "Hey there, what's up?"

My guess is that you or another user flagged responses as offensive while chatting (red flag button). Flagging a response will give a profanity error if used.

Every time I say the slightest thing to my bot, like "Hello" it just says ERROR: Profanity, offensive or sexual language is not allowed. It's started saying that for every thing I say.

Twitter's servers had some issues lately and some bots may have been disconnected from their Twitter accounts.

Please check if your bot is still connected from its Twitter properties, and click on Connect if not connected.

What version of the Bot Libre app are you using, and what version of Android. and what brand of phone?

Do you mean the green button at the top of the Browse screen? That just tracks that last bot you connected to. If you browse "My Bots" you should still see your bot (ensure you are logged in).

It happened to me again just now. The word Last is where your bot's name should be when you go to browse.

That is odd. I checked your bot's logs, and did not see any errors, and did not see any errors logged on Google Play in the last 7 days (but I did see some older errors that we will look into).
It may have been some sort of communications failure with the server that caused the issue.

You can use your bot however you wish. You can connect it to your Facebook profile to respond to posts that your train it to respond to, post your Blog or RSS feed, or auto tweet a set of tweets, or programmatic tweets.

For the Web import page there is an "Import From" drop down that indicates the source.
When the source is "Web" you must enter a valid web URL, for Wiktionary and Freebase, you can enter a keyword.

it was a link on your website, admin > web> i typed wolf for the keyword

For you bot to comment a post, the post must contain your bot's "Reply Keywords/Hashtags". You need to enter the keywords under that heading in your bot's Facebook properties for it to reply.

Sounds like you entered an invalid URL. What URL did you enter, and what are you trying to do?

There is no need, but an endless conversation could be harder for the bot to follow, and it would not be able to initiate the conversation with a greeting and such.

I can put a time limit on it at my end but is there any need?

Although conversation ids do not expire, you still probably don't want to have a conversation go on indefinitely.

The API for Bot Libre and Paphus Live Chat are the same, to API limits are different.

I checked our logs, and the response your are getting is "Invalid password" this is because you are passing a "user" parameter but no "password" or "token" parameter. If you want to connect to the bot as a specific user you need to pass the user password or token.

For an anonymous user just don't include a user parameter, then you will get a response.

because all the responses so far have indicted anonymous user, despite sending user name and application id, I assumed the bot wouldn't learn from them

 

at the moment I am getting no response at all, yet the number of application calls is incrementing

Why are you uploading a chat log? Are you trying to teach your bot new responses, or do something else?

Yes, even if the user was anonymous.

There is not REST API that takes a chat log, but their is a training API

even if the convo was labelled anonymous?

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do?

Bot's can resume a conversation if you use the conversation id.

I have done the first bit, the logs show the user as anonymous

so the bot cannot resume the convo

Then you would most likely be using the web API. What language is the virtual world interface in?

For the web API you just need to include your user application ID from your user page, and your bot's ID. The first web API message will return a conversation ID which you use for other chat messages in the same conversation. So each user you interface with would get a different conversation ID for each conversation.

You do not have to be a registered user to chat with a bot.
Do you want the users to chat 1v1 or in a chatroom? You can create a chatroom under our Live Chat that allows anonymous users and link the bot to the chatroom.

I've switched off "Wiktionary" (actually I've done it before - I think, this option is switching on automatically). Now I can't reproduce the error.

If it appears again, I'll try to prepare a test scenario with less copmlex logic.

(After this error, I think, some variables weren't saved - and the following bot's answers were incorrect because of missing right values of variables like "topic".)

The error seems to be a database concurrency issue. The bot's mind is a concurrent system, so sometimes a background task will conflict with a conscious task (chat message).

Background tasks include looking up words on Wiktionary, data on Freebase, processing Comprehension, and Twitter, Facebook, and Email processing. Normally concurrency errors are just trapped, and the transaction retried, so they normally do not cause an issue other than appearing in your log.
